Give your relationship every chance to be its best!

There are many things that can put strain on a relationship:

  • Financial concerns - having too much debt, losing a job, or facing an unexpected expense.  It's easy to blame each other for financial difficulties, but when you learn to work together on solving the problem rather than blaming each other, you can actually make your relationship stronger and reduce your individual anxiety.

  • Life events - having a baby, getting a promotion/new job, moving, or illness.  Some of the events in our life are happy ones and some are not, but they can all be stressful.  It's important to talk to each other about the impact of these events on your relationship with each other and your relationships with family and friends.

  • Complacency - life gets busy and suddenly the passion is gone and you feel more like roommates than a couple.  Things are left unsaid for so long that now it seems like it's too late to say them.  Your life together started out with a bang; you fell in love, bought a house, maybe had kids, grew your careers, and now some years later, it feels like you're living with a stranger.  You've grown over the years, but did you grow together?  Coaching is a safe place to have the conversations that really matter, the ones that you've been afraid to have on your own.

  • Family concerns - interference, illness, death, or divorce of a parent or sibling.  Families mean well, but can often cause strain on a relationship.  Each person in the relationship usually has a bias for their own family and will put up with more from them than their spouse's family.  This can cause additional strain on the relationship.  Coaching helps you create agreements about how you want your families to be a part of your lives and helps you set and keep clear boundaries.

  • Getting married - planning a wedding can create stress and strain not only in the relationship between the couple but within the families too.  There are so many decisions to make during the wedding planning process; the location, the meal, the flowers, the dress, the guest list, the budget (to name but a few) and everyone has an opinion.  Who are the players in your wedding; who has a say?  Coaching can help you and your entire wedding 'team' get on the same page and begin working together to create a day you'll cherish forever.

So, whether you want to put the spark back in your relationship, feel like you need to get back on the same page with your partner, want to navigate a specific issue, need to prepare for a significant life event, or simply want more positivity and connection in your relationship, coaching can help!  Contact me for a complimentary consultation to discuss your specific needs and to sign up for my special introductory couples package.
